Vermont Store Front

Years ago I passed by a small shop in Vermont that had the most artful window display. The image played in my mind for years until last fall, when I was finally ready to paint it.

  1. I agree with Ginny, artists tuck ideas away and wait for the right inspiration to birth them. This piece is intriguing. The colors, shapes and reflections invited me right in. Beautiful work, Jane.

  3. This is wonderful, Jane. It seems very different from your earlier pieces. The light play across and through the window is outstanding. I love it! K

  5. Just the other day, I was reading an article where the artist sketch a memory they had a couple decades ago and he said while the mind may not be clear with the details the hands knew exactly what to do, where to place the lines & curves. I was reminded by this with your comments about how you saw this scene years ago and it took until last fall before you were ready to paint it. There is a mysterious talent with artists such as yourself 🙂 Beautiful painting, Jane, an artful look into the past. Cheers to a great day.
